We designed and installed this front and side garden for a client in Chicago. With time, the shrubs will grow and fill the space in much more. We love the way their path meanders through their garden, providing beauty and function at the same time. Like our Facebook page for more photos and updates!
We first repaired and painted this client’s front porch, railing and stairs. Then we installed a new front landscape and parkway garden with a variety of color and texture to provide 4 seasons of interest. Like our Facebook page for more pictures and updates!
We installed this backyard garden for a client in Evanston who has two dogs. We kept the plant selection dog-friendly and brought pops of color to their deck area with container gardens.

Here is one of the landscapes we finished so far this summer in Chicago. Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for photos of more landscaping jobs we’ve done this summer.
We installed a flowering vine on wood lattice as a decorative privacy screen for the deck and carried this same design element over to the garage in the back.

This client wanted a whimsical look for her front and side gardens. I began by replacing the swing seat and mulching the area underneath. On the left, we planted some Variegated Boxwood and Dogwood shrubs, Holly and Yarrow for color. I also planted Variegated Vinca around the front tree where it will look more like a hanging vine as it continues to grow.
A friend and tattoo artist, David Sugihara, designed and painted the stepping stones with the symbols for “Om” and “Zen”. Aren’t they beautiful? The path leads to an area on the side of her house where I placed more whimsical elements of the garden, including a pinwheel sun and half-buried sink with flowers.
I love a garden with a story, and this particular one had such a sweet history with memories of her children playing on the swing. Though they have grown, we kept those precious memories alive in her garden by replacing the old swing seat, making it usable once more, and keeping the area around it open, just as she had it when her children were young. Eventually, the whimsy of this storybook garden will be complete with the addition of a small library house, placed at the beginning of the path leading to the side area with the spinning pinwheel and archway.
It may look a little bare now, but the beds will continue to fill in as the trees and shrubs continue to grow year after year. It was fun to work on such an interesting garden design, but I am mostly thrilled that the client enjoys her new garden.

For this client in Park Ridge, I cleaned up the space, moved a few of the existing plants and also removed much of what was there to make room for shrubs and plants that will provide the front of the home with 4 seasons of interest. Each year, the shrubs will continue to grow to fill the beds and this garden will be full of color once the spring/summer comes next year!
As we come closer to the end of an excellent landscaping season, we want to first say a BIG thank you to all of our clients – new and old – for their patronage, loyalty and just generally being awesome people to work with. THANK YOU! It has been such a privilege to design so many beautiful gardens this year and I hope that you and your families enjoy them for years to come. We do offer garden maintenance services if the need arises, so please feel free to call us next year!
I also want to remind you that we offer painting services. Please check out samples of my work and read my reviews on Yelp. Estimates are always completely free so it doesn’t hurt to call and schedule one. With every painting contract, I also offer a free color consultation if you’re concerned about choosing the right shade or hue for your space.
We hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful autumn colors! Happy Fall!
Take advantage of the warmer weather while it lasts and get your landscape installed before the ground freezes! This is always the time of year when many will ask if it’s too late to plant. My answer: Definitely not! In fact, there are a number of shrubs and flowers that bloom in the fall, as well as trees and other plants that have brilliant fall foliage.
With the warm temperatures and rainy weather we’ve had, the ground is soft and in great condition for planting. We can also get your garden ready for the spring next year so that once the warm weather comes around again, everything is in your garden, ready to bloom.
We always offer completely free estimates, so give us a call to schedule yours! Please don’t hesitate to call or email us with any questions. You can also check out a couple more of our installs from this past summer below.
Chicago Condo Front Yard & Parkway Landscaping
We designed and installed this front yard and parkway landscape for a condominium building in Chicago this past summer. We were able to provide them with a variety of trees, shrubs and perennial flowers that will grow and fill the space in more each year. The small black fence we installed adds style while also protecting the landscape from dogs in the neighborhood.
Chicago Front & Backyard Landscaping with Moon Garden
We also installed this front and backyard landscape for a client’s home in Chicago. Note the moon garden in the back, consisting of all white blooms that will appear as though they are glowing in the moonlight.

It has been a busy summer! As I continue to gather pictures of everything we’ve done, here is a peek into a job we had last month. The client wanted to create a sitting area in their front yard with a variety of container gardens and blooming shrubs surrounding them. We were quite pleased with the results!
Note the two paved areas for chairs and a table on either side of the walkway that we had installed for them as well as the planters near the front gate and front door that we filled for them. Near the gate, we created a mirrored effect on either side of the walkway with the shrubs we planted. As they continue to grow every year, they will fill the space in more and more. The range of blooms, foliage and seasonal interest will provide this client with much to enjoy year round.
We’ve been pretty busy the past couple of months and are so thankful for the many clients we’ve had the opportunity to work with. We hope they enjoy their new gardens and maybe even give you a little inspiration if you’re looking for some.
First up is a small budget backyard landscape we installed in Chicago. We were able to clean the space up and bring new colors and textures to the area.
We installed a few new plants for the front landscape of one of our regular clients in Skokie this year. We found some interesting shrubs and trees to fill the space – check them out!
We also painted this front porch for a client. It’s amazing what a difference a fresh coat of paint can make!
Another regular client in Chicago asked us to fill the containers for her window boxes and shady backyard deck space. We were able to bring a variety of colors and textures to both places.
I designed and installed this landscape for a client’s front yard in Chicago last month, and really love how the color and height of the Japanese Maple tree we planted compliments the front of the home. We also created a stone path and filled the parkway with Monkey Grass that will continue to grow and fill the space more each year. The shrubs on the side of the home are Variegated Dogwoods, which produce beautiful white blooms in the spring and have bright red branches in the winter which look beautiful against the snow. With this variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, this home will be surrounded by 4 seasons of beauty for years to come.
